Third Wednesday of each month at 7:30am in the Community Room of
the Village Hall

Presently comprised of four members, the
Board of Fire and Police Commissioners are appointed by the President
of the Village with consent from
the Board of Trustees. The Board has the responsibility to test,
screen and appoint new members to the fire and police departments
of the Village, excluding the fire chief and police chief. Additionally,
the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners conduct competitive
testing for promotional positions with the two departments, such
as fire lieutenant and police sergeant. The Board of Fire and
Police Commissioners functions, and conducts entrance and promotional
exams, in conformity with the Illinois Compiled Statutes.
